Did You Know?

When you turn 25 years old, your collagen goes dormant, which is why you begin to see the signs of aging. Microneedling is the only proven treatment to stimulate both collagen types 1 and 3 for up to two years and provides the treated skin with 97% better product absorption!

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that uses needles to puncture the skin to create a controlled injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing collagen and elastin. Through the repair process, there are visible improvements in skin texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars, pore size and stretch marks.

The Technology

The Microneedling device is designed with precisely spaced micro tips to create thousands of invisible microchannels in the skin.

The Science

The micro channels created, trick the brain into thinking that it is injured. Thus, releasing a rapid rate of collagen and elastin.

The Result

Fine lines and wrinkles diminish as skin tightens, pore size shrinks, uneven pigment is corrected, scars and cellulite can be removed.

Microneedling Reduces Rosacea by:

- Stimulating EGF’s (epidermal growth factors), which increases the density of the epidermis and lessens the appearance of the vessels beneath the skin for reduced overall redness.

- Strengthening collagen vessel walls and connective tissue that supports the vessels for optimized blood flow.

- Increasing the availability of cell nutrients and antioxidants to provide tissue with the balance needed for an even-toned appearance.

How does Microneedling Correct Scars?

- The mechanical breakdown of existing scar tissue allows for a renewed, natural wound healing cascade that counteracts the negative wound healing factors that were present in the initial scarring injury.

- Microneedling increases Platelet Growth Factor which attracts white blood cells into the wound, which releases anti-inflammatory growth factors by the immune system and promotes propelled healing and scar reduction.

- Microneedling also increases matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which help the skin stimulate new cell turnover and remodel scar tissue.

Microneedling for Hair Regrowth

Microneedling treatments stimulate hair regrowth for individuals suffering from Alopecia, male and female pattern baldness, by boosting blood flow, increasing the availability of cell nutrients and topical medications, as well as promoting cellular activity and growth factors that improve follicle growth.

Hair regrowth in the scalp takes a minimum of three months with treatments every three-four weeks. Suggested series of six.

How does Microneedling correct hair loss?

- By stimulating blood flow and increasing availability of cell nutrients and topical medications.

- By releasing vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which improves follicle vascularization, promoting hair growth, and increasing follicle hair size.

- By signaling PDGF (platelet derived growth factor) to interact with the skin of the scalp to promote hair canal formation and growth.

  • Stretch marks
  • Cellulite
  • Enlarged pores
  • Hyperpigmentation (due to sun damage and/or hormonal imbalances e.g. Melasma)

  • Loose skin
  • Dehydrated skin

+ Microneedling Achievements

  • Increased smoothness and hydration
  • Thicker and firmer skin
  • Increased nutrients, overall healthier condition of the treated skin
  • Better micro-circulation in the treated skin

+ How is the Microneedling treatment administered?

A licensed skin care professional glides the Microneedling pen over AnteAGE Microneedling Solution, Saian Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum or plain sterile saline in a cross link or circular pattern over the skin to puncture the epidermal layers and create microscopic subcutaneous injuries. These microscopic channels in the skin allow for optimal product absorption. The microscopic injuries created with the Microneedling Pen stimulate a repair response & new collagen production with minimal to no downtime.

+ How does Microneedling work on a Cellular level?

As the Microneedling pen creates micro-channels into the skin, pores are temporarily opened allowing the enhancement serums to fully penetrate. Micro-point punctures in the skin are created. This is a controlled injury to the skin and is perceived by the body as damage. This stimulates the release of growth factors that trigger the production of Collagen and Elastin. Skin reacts to this Microneedling treatment by initiating the healing process which encourages your skin to continue to regenerate.

  • Glucosamine Sulfate - not only does it provide healthy joint support but speeds healing. The first few days of trauma enhance HA production in the wound which allows for fewer complications related to scarring.
  • Liposomal Vitamin C - The liposome delivery system has hydrophilic and hydrophobic portions, providing a fat and water portion, which allows vitamin C to be absorbed through the fat and water soluble pathways for optimal absorption in the body.Liposomal C is an antioxidant that protects the body against oxidative stress. C is found in high concentrations in immune cells and also plays an important role in aiding several collagen synthesis reactions.
  • Biotin - When using Microneedling to stimulate hair regrowth, internal support from the essential water-soluble B vitamin, Biotin, is recommended. Studies have also linked Biotin to healthy skin, nails, intestinal flora, as well as regulating low blood sugar levels and the nervous system.

These supplements can be found on our Shop Page.

+ When should I expect to see results?

With our automated Microneedling pen treatments, the skin is tricked into repairing itself. The process of Microneedling skin remodeling can continue to enhance for months after treatment as the skin continues to repair itself. Results can be seen within a few days to a week. A series of Microneedling sessions is recommended to speed up the process and achieve optimum results. However, skin improvement is noticeable after just one treatment!

+ What to expect after a Microneedling treatment?

Immediately following treatment, your skin will have some redness and be flushed in appearance like a moderate sunburn. You will also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to the treated area. Some flaking or peeling may occur and will be replaced with brand new skin. At 24 hours and up to 36 hours after treatment, little to no evidence of injury to the treated area is visible, however tightness and peeling can occur.

+ Can the Microneedling pen be used on ethnic skin types?

Microneedling can be safely performed on all skin colors and types. There is no risk of post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation as the melanocytes remain intact (as long as post-care instructions are followed).

Other invasive procedures such as laser resurfacing are not recommended for Asian or African American skin due to the potential risks of delayed wound healing, pigment changes, and scarring. However, with Microneedling, the potential risks on ethnic skin are unlikely due to the epidermis remaining intact.

+ Can Microneedling help with Rosacea?

Mild Rosacea can be improved. When the Spinosum layer is strengthened through Microneedling, the collagen stimulated will support the dermal papillae, which will reduce the appearance of broken capillaries. Microneedling is NOT intended for pustular, nodular Rosacea.

+ How many treatments will I need?

The number of Microneedling treatments depends on your current skin condition and goals. Four to six treatments may be needed for moderate acne scars. Scars from thermal burns and stretch marks may require between 6-10 Microneedling sessions. The added Collagen lasts up to 12 months and a refresher treatment is recommended every 6 months to 1 year in order to fight the signs of aging. Multiple sessions may be needed to reach your desired results and in order to meet your expectations.

+ Is Microneedling painful?

The variety of needle cartridges along with the Microneedling Pen’s ability to gauge the needle depth allows this treatment to be customized to fit your needs and comfort levels. Application of local anesthetic numbing cream and internal use of CBD supplements can prevent treatment discomfort.

+ What should I use post-treatment?

We offer many options for post-treatment.

  • For topical use: Our C+ Enhancement Serum, CBD face & neck masks, and healing cream.
  • For internal use: Glucosamine Sulfate and Liposomal C.
  • These supplements can be found on our Shop Page.

+ Are there any side effects to Microneedling?

Microneedling side effects typically resolve at a rapid rate. Redness subsides within 24 hours. Negative side effects should not take place if you are following proper protocol. Swelling during recovery phase, mild acne flare ups, Milia (which can easily be removed), herpes simplex virus (cold sores), and skin infection with bacteria (rare), may occur after treatment. If any of these symptoms persist and/or worsen please seek immediate medical attention. As the microscopic channels to the skin close quickly, postoperative wound infection is extremely rare. Emollients and/or topical antibiotics may be prescribed, if considered necessary.

+ What are the contraindications for Microneedling treatment?

Microneedling Pen treatments must be avoided in the following cases:

  • Angiogenesis (new blood vessels formation) - reduces the appearance of capillaries
  • Healing

3) Remodeling

  • Blood vessels disappear
  • New forms of collagen (types 1 & 3) lead to increased tissue strength (turgidity/bounce)
  • Tissue repair takes place for up to two years.

+ Why is Erythema & heat (similar to a sunburn) felt in the treated skin post Microneedling?

Erythema and heat is caused by vasodilation due to the release of histamine.

+ Is the Microneedling pen FDA approved?

Currently there are no dermal needling device that is approved by the FDA. The fact that a company lists a device as a Class One medical device—low risk and least regulatory controls—does not mean that the FDA agrees with that designation. In fact, in official correspondence, the FDA rejects the assertion that skin needling devices are Class One simply because a company claims that it is skin to dermabrasion or other similar brushes and tools. Anyone can get a device or instrument listed (or registered) by completing a simple form and filing it with the FDA. This does not mean the device is approved.
